What is an athletic scholarship?
An athletic scholarship is funding towards an education at either a College or University in the United States of America. In more simple terms a College is willing to pay for part or sometimes all of your Tuition to study for a degree whilst you are giving back via way of competing for that college as part of their athletics program.
What does a scholarship cover?
Scholarships differ in every college in the USA. Typically a scholarship will cover the majority of your tuition costs to attend that college however there are other ways to bump that up and get access to more funding which can go towards your housing, meals and books. A scholarship is awarded by a college coach based on your ability and requirement to their specific program.
Do my School grades or subjects matter?
Without a doubt this is the most important thing when applying for an athletic scholarship. If you have not sat the correct amount of core course subjects you will be deemed ineligible by the NCAA and the academics departments of that particular school and will not be eligible to compete. A non-competing athlete is less likely to get any scholarship funding.

Do college coaches recruit from agency websites or databases?
Absolutely not! Don’t be fooled into thinking just because your profile is on a website that a coach is going to come looking for you. They simply do not have the time and with our history we guarantee coaches are more likely to look at an approved athlete from a reputable source like AUS Recruit well before they go hunting through endless amounts of athlete profiles to find you.

How important is game footage for a coach?
This is one of if not the most important thing you will ever need during the recruiting process. If you do not have footage to show a coach and showcase your skills you have a 0% chance of getting an email back from a coach let alone an offer. Film every game, make a skills video and do it professionally!
